2. What We Collect

Usage data (all users): When you use the app, we collect your product selections, department preferences, and session identifiers, along with technical information your device sends automatically, including IP address, browser type, and operating system. No account or name is required.

Contact information (optional): If you choose to enter the sweepstakes, you may provide an email address and/or phone number. At that point, your usage data is linked to the contact information you provide. Providing contact information is never required to use the app.

3. How We Use It

We use the information we collect to operate and improve the service, verify sweepstakes entries, prevent fraud, notify entrants of results, and develop personalized features and research applications. We use contact information for sweepstakes administration and result notification. At the time of notification, users may separately opt in to future communications.

We do not sell your personal data, use it for advertising, or share your contact information with third parties. If you click links to third-party brand sites, those sites may use their own tracking technologies.

4. Legal Basis (EU and UK Users)

We process usage data on the basis of legitimate interests in operating and improving the service. We process contact information on the basis of your consent, given when you submit your details at sweepstakes entry. You may object to legitimate-interests processing or withdraw consent for contact information at any time by emailing us.

5. Who Processes Your Data

We use third-party service providers for hosting, database, and infrastructure operations. These providers act under our instructions and are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the data we hold about you, and to object to how we process it. To exercise any of these rights, email upnextpersonalization@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

On deletion requests: we will delete all identifying information including contact details and session identifiers. Interaction data that has been anonymized — rendered incapable of being linked to any individual — may be retained as part of our anonymized research dataset.

EU and UK users may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

Up Next uses cookies and local storage for session management and app functionality. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking technologies.

8. Data Retention

Usage data and contact information are retained unless you request deletion. Anonymized data retained after a deletion request is kept indefinitely as part of our research dataset.

9. Children

Up Next is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Sweepstakes entry requires participants to be 18 or older. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted contact information, contact us with the contact information submitted. We will review the report and delete the information if confirmed.

10. International Transfers

Up Next is operated from the United States. If you are in the EU or UK, your data is transferred to the United States under appropriate safeguards — Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app. Continued use of Up Next after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
